Exams start next tuesday… heh. blah!

There we go, last day of internship completed 🙂

Didn’t do much all day though. Wednesday evening my 1U case arrived, now just in need of some memory for my server 🙂 Then it’s ready to “ship” 😉

Argh, damn. Now I have to study for exams :p

Have to present my application this afternoon.. tomorrow day off, friday is the last day of the internship.. then one week of studying (damn you Ash for telling me it was two weeks!), then onto the exams…

Went to a talk by John Purdy yesterday at our school, about computer games programming and such.. It was pretty cool to see some techniques, get inside footage etc… 🙂 We had fun, although up until an hour before it started, I had completely forgotten I enrolled 😉

Ah well, almost done with school… 🙂 🙁 😐

Yesterday my parents said they would buy me a DVD writer on the condition that I gave my current writer (Plextor 24x10x40) to my sister… So now on order at Tones, a 12x (hell yeah) Plextor DVD-Writer 😀

In other news, I’m rather broke.. can’t even recharge my cellphone credit 😐

USB stick seems broken, I’ll try to salvage what I can tomorrow when I get back to Leuven… Blade suggested some software which can recover files without needing a partition table or a FAT. Good, cause that’s gone 😐

Yesterday I didn’t manage to make this PCChips board boot, today I did, thanks to g5ive for the tip 😉 So I now have all hardware for my server except a case.. I haven’t heard from hohum anymore and all mail has been bouncing.. So I will buy a second hand 1U from Tom (Priorweb) … Just waiting for him to send it off :d

2 weeks of internship left… gotta make my report now, first version has/had to be delivered this week.. that doesn’t leave much time now, does it 😐 *to work, to work…*

Haven’t had much time lately to do anything… that includes updating my weblog. Had a day off today, but had to stay home because i needed to pass by the city hall, the bank, and then a Belgacom dude had to come fix our line… the problem was on our end, faulty cable, as it appears…

In other news, I’m going to do security at Rock Werchter with some friends, which will be lots of fun :d (at least I hope so ;))

At this moment, I just got back from The Butterfly Effect, which is a pretty nice movie! Ashton Kutcher does very well, although the faces he makes sometimes reminded me of That 70’s Show 😉 Good movie though, go see it.

Now tomorrow I have to go to my internship again… no more free day 😐

I saw Kill Bill vol. 1 & 2 together at the movies wednesday evening. Very cool. And no, I hadn’t seen Kill Bill vol. 1 before wednesday 🙁 *GAH* 🙂 Should have done that long ago.. and again.. 🙂

On a less funny note, I overslept yesterday and the day before. Not too funny 😮 AND my computer is acting up, with both my monitors going into standby regularly until i touch the mouse, then after a second, again… etc. 🙁

Well well, here we are in Mexico, Oaxaca to be precise… found some leftover time to get on the internet for a while. 8 pesos for an hour (24 BEF, about half a euro, not bad).

So I learned new stuff about Mexico…

Traffic rules.
1) License plates are totally unnecessary.
2) Traffic lights
– Cars/Buses/… :
* Green: Drive!
* Orange: Drive, use horn if needed
* Red: Drive, use horn excessively

– Pedestrians: There are no lights, run for your life or get roadkilled.

3) There are no further rules.

Cop rules:
Speed limit 95km/h. Drive 90km/h. Get pulled over by cops saying you were driving 100km/h. Get fined for 1500 pesos. Give cops 300 pesos to put in their pocket, fine gets shredded. Mexico is [b]NOT[/b] corrupt.

Table rules:
Hang on to your plate, fork, knife, spoon, glass, bottle, food, whatever, or they take it away from you if you’re not touching it for 10 seconds. They seem to think they’re polite, I seem to think it’s extremely rude.

All in all, it’s ok for vacation, but not to live here … We’re having great fun though 🙂 See you in a few days when I get home!

Finally, after 2,5 years I saw one of my friends again, while she’s been living in Leuven for 1,5 years now :s That’s so stupid 🙁 but we finally caught up :d :d

In other news, I’m leaving for Mexico early tomorrow. I’m sure I can’t be missed 😉 but people will have to cope without me for half a month 🙂 *eek: no computer access?*
