After I accidentally drained my car battery (oopsie, doh – thank $DEITY for battery chargers) my Kenwood KDC-WV6027 didn’t want to play MP3 anymore – it just saw one big long "track 01" without sound. After some looking around the internet, the solution was found on the cdfreaks forums : just press the reset button on your head unit. Hopefully people with this problem can find it a little easier through here, too..

We went to CeBIT last weekend with some friends in 3 cars. Despite warnings about it being a weekend meaning there would be way too many people, only a few places were overcrowded (notably the ones where they gave away free stuff to gamers/overclockers). We had a lot of fun there, stayed at a Youth Hostel in Hildesheim (they’ll surely remember us I fear) and had a good time. Of course "Germany" meant a visit to Burger King on friday on the way there AND one on sunday on the way back + a little high speed transportation on the autobahn (where allowed, of course). Also interesting we noticed is that it’s very handy to have walkie-talkies when driving in a group with several cars.

Minor setback on the way back though… 

Hmh, laast weekend our GPS receiver broke. It still fixes on the sats, but the bluetooth is simply dead. No flashing led, no discovery on the PDA anymore 🙁 Quite sucky,when you’ve been driving for years on GPS and have come to rely upon it to get where you wanted to go… Google maps powered works, butit’s just not as easy… 🙁

Looking for a new one.. Sirfstar III or better, bluetooth, car adapter, MMCX-antenna connector. Cheapest I could find on eBay was 70 eur incl shipping, but that still sounds expensive for one from eBay… Any hints?

Also on sunday, I went to Auto Moto Italia in Houten, The Netherlands – the "place to be" for Italian car lovers. However, the fair wasn’t actually all that great, luckily our club had the nicest, biggest and coolest stand 😀 So I met a lot of (new) people, and had quite some fun. Saw many nice cars (Ferrari F40, whew, youth thingy ;)) Took heaps of pictures, which I still have to get off my CF card.

Driving in "colonne" (cannot for the life of me find the english word for it) really is cool, too – 120km/h with a whole bunch of Alfa 156’s 😀

Hmm, haven’t posted anything in a while… too busy with work/catching up sleep/my newly found hobby "Alfa Romeo 156"/playing Age of Empires III: The warchiefs. Many many hours into each of those. 😉

Especially those 8-player AoE3 3-hour battlegames make time fly by so quickly 😀

Oh, and the car will have a pretty nice look once I got it back on monday and some enhanced functionality after next weekend, too. Looking forward to the club’s sleuteldag 😀

Joined the Alfa Romeo 156 Club a while ago.. Cool stuff, useful forum, accessories, .. hmm. I guess I’ve found a second hobby besides computers 😛

Anyone know a cheap spraypaint thingy? I need some bits redone… 🙂

Since this morning I’m free of this white and blue L sticking to our car’s rear window… Permanent driving license yippee!
