Got my first paycheck today… yay 😉 Previous sysadmin’s last day too, so from tomorrow on I’m on my own.. My network :p

Nothing much to say except that I still have to find a way to organize my time, my desk, my harddisk and my projects 😉

When I got to work today, tequila acted very strangely… load average was way up high, but at least I could still use the commandline albeit slowly… dmesg revealed IDE I/O errors on hdb… which happened to contain /home. Yay, NOT!

Luckily I had another disk there and after a reboot I could just copy everything… lets hope this keeps working then. Gah.

Diana got her test results for her Dutch course today.. best of the whole class, congratulations 😀

My third working week is almost over… from 1-Sep-2004 on, I’ll be in charge and the previous system administrator is leaving… Let’s hope it works out OK 😉

My PDA was delivered 2 days ago… had to charge for 8 hours so didn’t get to play with it until the next day.. They should really precharge the batteries 😛

It’s a Dell Axim X30i with Bluetooth and Wifi, 624MHz XScale processor and 64MB RAM. Really cool 😀 I put MiniStumbler on it a few hours ago… so now all I need is a Bluetooth GPS to be able to do some warwalking/running/sitting/driving 😉 And some thingy so I can post to my weblog from it.. which means I have to find some time to fix up the XML interface to PowerBlog… and find some time to finish Spidernet Services … and my dynamic dns software … and my firewall package … and ofcourse for Diana… Life is so unfair if you have all these great ideas but no time! 😛

Trying to grasp Solaris 9 … odd stuff 😐

Been working for 2 days now… trying to grasp the whole setup of the company so I can take over maintenance 🙂

And practice my internal keyboard switching… qwerty at work, azerty at home and qwertz on Diana’s laptop, where I’m typing now 😉

Not much to say except that working days are way different than school days 😉

No updates for a whole week… I must be busy 😉

Am living in a cosy appartment with Diana at the moment, only sometimes do I get to see a computer… Sorry guys 😉 Luckily we have some internet connection or I would die… :p

Diana’s taking her Dutch classes again and already got to level 4 out of 5 😀 She has a test tomorrow, I will ‘duim’ for her 😉 She’s dying to read what I’m writing here, too 😉

We did a mini-wardrive on friday… Leuven is full of access points! 😛 And we only did a few streets 🙂 Got to get me a GPS thingy so we can start mapping 😛

Tomorrow I start to work… I hope everything goes well… and that everything is well-maintained so I don’t have to fix stuff up all the time… let’s hope everything turns out great! 😀

Since thursday, Diana is back in Belgium… which is why there hasn’t been any update here 😉

She brought her kitty along which is fun and cute, and we have now another studio in Leuven to stay at 🙂

I have 7 days left before I start my job, but I don’t know what to do while Diana is taking Dutch classes… lots of stuff to do.

Also, (again) thanks to ZeveRoaRe, I now have Evolution running on my Windows computer, but no longer in a separate “X” window… just Evolution in a Windows window. Yay 😀 Just need to sort out how to fix the mouse cursor so that it’s not an X all the time… 🙂

And.. Scarlet AND Chello now have traffic limits of 15G/month each… guess I’ll change to RealDSL soon 😉
