Hmm, end of volume 1. Now am I the only one who thought this was a bit of an anticlimax?

Apartment Date: May 22nd, 2007 by SiD3WiNDR Categories: Home Apparently our apartment, after being virtually sold, is back on the market – so we can’t move out yet. Grmbl. I guess the probable buyers didn’t appreciate being lied to about what they were actually buying, heh. (yes, that’s the owner for ya, a big bastard. but you didn’t get that from me, ok?) Once at the notary, of course the truth comes to light. Anyone want to buy an overpriced broken-by-design 3-bedroom apartment? |
Alfa Romeo Date: May 22nd, 2007 by SiD3WiNDR Categories: Car Joined the Alfa Romeo 156 Club a while ago.. Cool stuff, useful forum, accessories, .. hmm. I guess I’ve found a second hobby besides computers 😛 Anyone know a cheap spraypaint thingy? I need some bits redone… 🙂 |
Storage galore Date: May 22nd, 2007 by SiD3WiNDR Categories: Computing, Hardware Last post may 6th eh… Hmm. Let’s blast out some posts. Via Fabian, a nice 4-2.5"-disks-in-5.25"-form-factor storage backplane . Funky. I guess 2.5" disks are still slower and more expensive than "regular" 3.5" ones, but this is a nice start 😉 |

Row 10, chair 11 and 12. Date: May 6th, 2007 by SiD3WiNDR Categories: Movies Went to Kinepolis this evening after a long time of absence – wanted to see Spiderman 3 but it was of course full. Went to see Perfect Stranger instead, which had an interesting ending 🙂 However, this was my first Kinepolis numbered-seat experience, and like Jan, I didn’t really like it. Being able to go to the cinema on a whim, without having the worst seats in the theater, or being able to choose depending on who sits where instead of seeing which seats are coloured white on the screen is quite nice. In other countries it’s always been like this, but for us this is quite a change… Maybe it’s just a habit, but unless you can tell beforehand you’re going next week to the movies and reserve the best places right away, I don’t see the turn for the good… |
Lookout! QuoteFix! Date: May 5th, 2007 by SiD3WiNDR Categories: Interweb, Software Via cedric (on IRC): If you use Outlook as your email client and make use of plain-text messages, you will have noticed that Outlook doesn’t exactly feature the most intelligent quoting algorithm; in fact, it’s the silliest one imaginable. Outlook-QuoteFix can modify MS Outlook’s message composition windows on-the-fly to allow for correct quoting and to change the appearance of your plain-text replies and forwards in general: move your signature, use compressed indentation, customize your quote header, etc. If you (have to) use Microsoft Outlook for your e-mail needs, you really do need Outlook-QuoteFix – I didn’t know it existed up till now (I knew there was a patch for Outlook Express only), so that’s quite some good news… Outlook really isn’t that bad, but there’s still a few things I don’t like about it before I could use it on my windows box as my email client… Fwiw, I use Evolution 2.6.3 via Remote X (Cygwin) on my Windows box 😉 |
Kvpnc Date: May 5th, 2007 by SiD3WiNDR Categories: Software error: Username is empty! You need to check "Save username and password", otherwise it’ll simply not work. info: [openvpn] Options error: Unrecognized option or missing parametr(s) in /home/user/.kde/share/apps/kvpnc/openvpn.thingy.conf:8 cd (2.0.7) You need to fill out the certificate path in the profile options, if it’s empty it’ll just put "cd <nothing" instead of omitting the command. |
