Came home to find penguin’s LAN cable unplugged… that made anakin unreachable, and noone could get on the internet :p

Then I got my final marks for the past exams.. Professionele vorming: 7/20 – Bedrijfseconomie: 7/20 – Netwerken/Gedistribueerde Systemen: 11/20 … 🙁

And now I just found out Chello will have traffic limits.. 15GB/30 days. BAH :'(

Not much to see at the bedrijvendag… Only dropped off one CV, at Luciad… all the rest was rather boring :s

It felt great to see some friends again which I didn’t see for a long time and sit together at [i]Quick[/i] and [i]Buc’s place[/i] like the “old days” … :d

Somehow I’m pretty tired… and I got up later than when I go to my internship thingy 😮

Heh, in the meanwhile I got back from Germany… pretty tired, too 🙂

We had lots of fun, even in Cologne where we went monday, after 2 days of CeBIT.
As usual, lots of nice shiny hardware, 80″ TFT screens, IBM Cubes, the like 😉 AMD had a booth the size of a toilet though… tiny tiny. Especially compared to Intel’s palace… pretty strange…

Tomorrow “bedrijvendag” … meeting companies with my CV… uhh.. CV? Ah… *mental note: make a cv for tomorrow* 😉

I’m leaving for CeBIT tomorrow… at 6am @ school.. BLEH 🙂 Early 😐 But I guess we’ll have fun 😉

I’m currently trying to swap my laptop’s harddisk with one I got from a friend… 12GB is an improvement from 2GB 😉 but I need to keep the content … difficult .. but it’ll just have to work 😛

a) I get a 1U cooler for socket A/370. It DOESN’T FIT on the motherboard cause of some stupid transistor.

b) I want to put an Athlon 1GHz in my workstation (currently 800 MHz Athlon). Turns out the motherboard only supports 200MHz FSB and the CPU is 7.5×266 instead of 10×200. 🙁 Either I run it at 750 which would be stupid, or I put the 800 back…

c) I wanted to put the above Athlon in my server here (currently 1GHz Duron). That works, motherboard supports 266 FSB… I power it up again… doesn’t boot anymore… 1 SCSI disk failed. Luckily it only contained /usr/src/local, /tmp and /var/log … but still, sucky BS I have to go through to get it all fixed.

d) I hurt myself several times while doing the hardware changes.. yay.

Went to infosecurity today… my co-intern was with me and he wasn’t very interested, so I didn’t really get a chance to listen to talks or ask for more info at one of the booths… still saw interesting stuff, albeit lots of the same… “Firewall/Antispam/Antivirus” = “Security”, apparently 🙂

Found out what makes my PC NOT crash on Linux … turn off DMA on the SATA disk… which makes my load go up huge when doing disk I/O 🙁 NVidia chipset and SI SATARaid don’t seem to play along.. so why are they both on my motherboard? :s

That’s what it says in the driver source.. *sigh* I don’t have any support documentation and BIOS upgrades don’t seem to affect SATA when I look at changelogs.. might upgrade later… google time or something now I guess 😐

Got back yesterday evening from a weekend at Center Parcs De Vossemeren.. Had lots of fun, a very relaxing weekend :d Just a pity my girlfriend wasn’t there but well, still was very cool 🙂

Had presentation of our “projectwerk” today.. or at least we thought so, as that is what Ash told us… apparently not. It’s tomorrow! *rolleyes* 😉 So we missed 1 day of our internship for nothing 😮

My computer is coming together again, with this Debian thingy, now that I put kernel 2.6.3 on it my SATA is working correctly (as opposed to 2.4.25). Yay me. :p

My workstation in Leuven has been broken since saturday.. My 2 servers at home in Dilbeek have been broken since monday… Sucky week, eh… and no time to fix stuff… going home tonight to fix those 2 bastard kernels.

ISW had another Koken voor IT’ers workshop yesterday… we had fun 🙂 We made bruchetta thingies, then rice mix with meatballs in tomato sauce, and for desert cookies :d A success, as usual 😉

And I miss Diana 🙁
